My Winter Wonderland ...

In no particular order. I have had treasured times in both the counties of Kent and Kernow. Not least, after so much this last year too. I didn't think I would get through another year too, after some really low parts ... through the  ever perpetual seasons.

Early In the Month
For the first time in a while, I attended an evening service at a local church. It was an RSVP event in conjunction with the funeral home I used for the funeral of my husband. A beautiful service with the lighting of candles and blessing of the Star messages ... A favourite hymn of my late Dad's too and a poem and two.

Walking up to top of the town
On the advice of myself and then the Doctors, I took some much needed rest and recuperation in the fresh air. I had two weeks of hill walking up and down, in and out of the valley of a much loved town, in the Cornish town I grew up in, exploring this time all that is new ... since my lost seasons in time.

Treasures in Mum's garden
And I cannot remember the last time I was in Mum's garden in the winter ... seeing the evergreens, holly ... and more importantly seeing Mum's anticipation again, in what was blooming in the garden, particularly the Christmas Rose as below. And above is the fuchsia behaving like the festive season in their natural glory, like baubles glistening in the Christmas tree. Only outside and I took the time to trawl through this Aladdin's cave of natures glistening growth in the season of death ...

A Christmas Rose
All in all a Winter Wonderland with all things natural. A festive meal with my Mum and Sister making the kitchen come alive again with the preparation of this meal. With me doing Dad's brandy butter recipe, that was once the annual ritual, before he too passed away one sunny Autumn Day ...
